Abstract
The vacuum hot press sintering furnace combines the dual advantages of "vacuum environment" and "pressure sintering". Compared with ordinary hot press furnaces and vacuum sintering furnaces, it has significant differences in molding effect and energy consumption cost.
In terms of molding effect, the vacuum hot pressing sintering furnace can apply uniaxial pressure under high vacuum conditions, effectively eliminate internal pores of the material, promote densification, and obtain products with higher density and more uniform microstructure, especially suitable for high-performance materials such as refractory metals and ceramic matrix composites. In contrast, although ordinary hot pressing furnaces can be pressurized, they are usually carried out in air or inert atmosphere, which can easily introduce impurities or oxidation, affecting purity and density; Although vacuum sintering furnaces can provide a clean environment, they lack external pressure and have limited densification ability, making it difficult to achieve near net forming.
In terms of energy consumption cost, the vacuum hot pressing sintering furnace needs to maintain high vacuum and high temperature and high pressure simultaneously, with complex equipment and precise control systems, resulting in high initial investment and operation maintenance costs. Its energy consumption mainly comes from the vacuum system, heating system, and hydraulic/mechanical pressurization device, and the overall energy consumption is higher than that of single function equipment. Ordinary hot press furnaces have relatively simple structures and low energy consumption, but are limited by their ability to control the atmosphere; Although the energy consumption of vacuum sintering furnace is moderate, it often requires higher temperature or longer time to achieve similar density due to the lack of pressure assistance, indirectly increasing energy consumption.
In summary, the vacuum hot pressing sintering furnace has outstanding advantages in forming quality and is suitable for high-end material preparation, but it has high energy consumption and cost; Ordinary hot press furnaces and vacuum sintering furnaces are more economical in specific application scenarios.
